The hydraulic transport of solid matter places very high demands on pipelines. An extraordinarily high degree of transport friction must be taken into account. Loss due
to abrasive attrition is considerable. The economy and cost-performance ratio of the conveyer system is to a very large degree dependant on the characteristics of the pipeline material.
Due to their specific characteristics, JULON pipes have firmly established themselves in the gravel and sand industry, the potash and slat industries and in mining. They have outperformed pipes made from other materials in a host of application. JULON pipes can be laid above ground, underground, above or under water. JULON pipes and JULON flanges are manufactured seamlessly by centrifugal casting according to the activated anionic polymerization principle. This manufacturing process assures very high structural density in a bubble-free casting of constant wall thickness.
JULON pipes can be manufactured to individual standards of wall thickness or cross section to suit specific customer needs. When demands are roughest, JULON pipes prove their superiority to pipes of other materials.
Depending on transport speed, particle size and other parameters, the pressure loss in a JULON pipe 15 between 15 an 38 % less than in comparable steel pipes. This is due to their very smooth interior surface and the lubricating effect of water on the JULON pipe interior wall.
This data has not only been proven in tests carried out by the Technische Hochschule
Karlsruhe and the Kinderdijkinstitut in the Netherlands, but also confirmed repeatedly
in the field.
A further demand placed on the System is a high degree of flexibility. Characteristics such as bend radius and empty weight play a decisive rote in Fields such as dredging, where the pipeline must be laid partly or totally floating. Pontoons can be delivered complete with walkway, handrail and energy delivery lines.
